Willie Brown Refutes Trump’s Helicopter Incident: ‘Pure Fiction’ Amid Controversy Over Kamala Harris

Willie Brown Debunks Trump’s Helicopter Claim

Former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown has labeled Donald Trump’s recent story about a helicopter incident as outright “fiction.” Trump’s account described a harrowing experience in which both he and Brown faced a dangerous emergency landing during a helicopter ride.

Trump’s Version of Events

During a news conference at his Mar-a-Lago estate, Trump recounted, “We thought maybe this was the end. We were in a helicopter… and there was an emergency landing. This was not a pleasant landing.” He added that he was open to legal action against naysayers of his tale.

Brown’s Response

Brown, now 90, on the contrary, firmly stated that he and Trump have never shared a helicopter, further asserting, “I don’t think I’d want to ride on the same helicopter with him.” This stark denial has raised eyebrows as to Trump’s storytelling accuracy.

Plausible Confusion with Jerry Brown

Speculations arose that Trump may have misremembered the incident, as he appears to have confused Willie Brown with Jerry Brown, the former California governor. The two, along with current governor Gavin Newsom, did indeed share a helicopter ride in 2018 following the devastating Paradise wildfires. Both denied any dangerous circumstances marking that trip.

Responses from State Officials

Governor Newsom labeled Trump’s claims as completely untrue, stating, “I call complete BS.” This has prompted an even broader discussion about the authenticity of Trump’s numerous claims.

Trump’s Remarks on Kamala Harris

The former president’s helicopter story surfaced in the midst of comments regarding Kamala Harris’ connections to Willie Brown during Harris’s early career as a prosecutor. Trump made the insinuation that Brown may have had a substantial influence on Harris’s political trajectory, to which both Brown and Harris have strongly refuted.

Polls Indicate Harris’s Strong Standing

Amidst this ongoing controversy, recent polling data indicates that Harris may currently hold an advantage over Trump, boasting a lead of 50% to 46% in key battleground states like Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Michigan, according to a national poll from the New York Times and Siena College.
