Willian already announced his new club for Premier League 2020/2021. As many have reported, Arsenal is the Brazilian’s next port.
The certainty of Willian’s transfer was announced via the North London club’s official website, Friday (14/8/2020) in the morning WIB. Willian was brought in free of charge because his contract at Chelsea had expired.
Arsenal have tied Willian on a three-year contract and will wear the jersey number 12.
“I know him very well, for a long time because we worked together in the Brazilian national team and of course I followed him because he played at another club. He has fantastic attributes as a person, and of course as a footballer, his character,” said the Technical Director. Arsenal, Edu Gaspar, as quoted by the club’s official website.
“I am 100 percent sure that everyone in the dressing room, the fans, myself and Mikel will enjoy it Willian in this team, “he continued.
Willian started his career at Corinthians before moving to Shakhtar Donetsk in 2007. He played there for six years before joining Chelsea in 2013. During his time with Shakhtar, Willian won four Ukrainian Premier Leagues and the 2009 UEFA Cup.
With Chelsea, Willian has 339 appearances in all competitions and notched 63 goals and 62 assists. Willian helped Chelsea win two Premier League trophies, one FA Cup, the English League Cup and the Europa League.
