Williams Racing Driver Academy Welcomes Sara Matsui and Alessandro Giusti

Williams Racing has announced that Sara Matsui and Alessandro Giusti have joined their driver academy.

As part of the Williams Racing Driver Academy, Sara Matsui and Alessandro will continue to develop and build their skills throughout their motorsport careers, with the full support and guidance of the team.

Sara Matsui is a 13-year-old karting star from Japan who will join the Driver Academy as a 2022 Girls on Track Rising Stars finalist. She has competed in several domestic kart series, including the 2021 JAF Kart Championship FR-Jr Cadet and the 2022 JAF Kart Championship FP-Jr, and has finished 3rd overall in both.

Sara Matsui continued to refine her skills throughout 2023, attending the HONDA Racing School and participating in series such as the JAF Local Kart Championship FS-125/X30 division and the GPR Kart Junior Class, where she achieved two podium finishes. She also won the 2023 OK-N Junior Champion of the Future Academy program, where she finished eighth overall out of 24 competitors worldwide.

In 2024, Sara Matsui will drive in the OKJ class for Kart Republic, and will also compete in the 2024 Champions of the Future Academy, which is supported by F1 Academy.

17-year-old Frenchman Alessandro joins the academy after an impressive debut season in the Formula Regional European Championship, finishing sixth in the driver standings and taking three wins and four podiums in 2023. .

His journey began in karting and he achieved success in numerous national and international karting championships. He made his single-seater debut in the 2021 French F4 Championship, winning two races and finishing on the podium six times.

Alessandro is in his second year in French F4, winning the championship in 2022 with 12 podiums, 6 pole positions, and 2 wins, before moving to FRECA in 2023.

The team has confirmed that Alessandro will compete in the Formula Regional European Championship at ART Grand Prix in 2024.
