The crown prince of the United Kingdom, Prince William, made a shocking confession. He described the past year as the “most difficult” of his life, the BBC reported. He shared how he coped after both his wife and father were diagnosed with cancer.
“It was terrible. It was probably the hardest year of my life. So, trying to manage everything else and keep everything in order was really difficult,” he said.
Buckingham Palace revealed that the king had cancer in February and will begin treatment. Just 6 weeks later, it was announced that the Princess of Wales was undergoing chemotherapy after being diagnosed with cancer.
By now, King Charles III had returned to his public duties and Catherine had finished chemotherapy.
“I’m proud of my wife, I’m proud of my dad for dealing with the things they’ve done. But from a personal family point of view, it was cruel,” the crown prince said.
The Prince of Wales was in South Africa for the Earthshot award ceremony. On November 6, 5 projects won 1 million each. pound prize money for its environmental innovations.
William was asked if he enjoyed the freedom and responsibility that came with his title. “It’s a difficult subject. Do I like more responsibility? No. Do I like the freedom of being able to create something like Earthshot, then yes,” the prince said.
“And that’s the future for me. It is very important with my role and my platform that I do something for good. Helping people’s lives and doing something that is really meaningful,” the royal emphasized.
