Do you have to watch the ads on YouTube soon? In a test, users are asked to turn off the ad blocker.
So far, there have been two ways to avoid advertising on YouTube: with a premium subscription or with an ad blocker. But it could be that the latter will soon no longer work.
An experiment is currently taking place in the USA: Some users on Reddit write that they have received a warning that the video player will stop working after three more videos. The only ways to prevent this: either deactivate the AdBlocker or take out a YouTube premium subscription.

The test phase is currently only running for US users. It hasn’t started in Germany yet. But YouTube is serious. The group has told the magazine “Bleeping Computer” that playback will be blocked for users who do not allow advertising. Advertising is important so that YouTube remains largely free.
