The classic summer heat starts tomorrow. Until the end of this week (and according to current forecasts – until the beginning of August) the weather will be hot with prevailing maximum temperatures between 34° and 40°C, write from Meteo Balkans.
Temperatures will drop by a degree or two at the beginning of next week, but it will remain hot.
The reason for the expected permanent hot and dry weather is the formation of a blocking circulation, which cuts off the access of atmospheric processes to Central and Southern Europe. We expect cooling and autumn temperatures in Great Britain and the Scandinavian countries.
During the past weeks, most areas of Western and Central Europe have seen minimal amounts of precipitation. The long period of hot weather increases the risk of wildfires, such as those currently occurring in the Iberian Peninsula and France. Large forest fires are now also observed over Greece.
High temperatures are dangerous to health, so avoid staying outside!
