An indescribable state of sadness is still experienced by the Syrian artist, George Wassouf, after the departure of Najla Al-Bakr Wadih last week.
After the shock caused by the tragedy, pages on social media circulated news of the retirement of “Sultan Al-Tarab” out of grief.
However, the Lebanese journalist, Nishan, broke his silence and completely denied, while he is a close friend of the family, what was rumored during the past hours.
He said in press statements that Wassouf did not inform him of the news of his retirement from singing out of grief over the death of his son, explaining that if he wanted to, he would have retired because of his health crisis.
Calamity and sadness
It is noteworthy that the Syrian and Arab artistic community was heartbroken a few days ago, with the news of the death of Wadih Wassouf, son of the Syrian artist George Wassouf, following the repercussions of stomach surgery.
The news of the death came hours after the family announced that the late young man had been transferred to a hospital in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, in critical condition, following the gastric sleeve he underwent.
Social media erupted in grief after the death was announced, and a large number of late celebrities lamented.
It is noteworthy that the last appearances of the Syrian artist, George Wassouf, were on the occasion of the New Year’s Eve, when the owner of “My Soul, Nesma” performed a huge concert entitled Trio Night, along with many music stars from the Arab world, as part of the activities of the Riyadh entertainment season.
