Will there soon be a public sea route through Federer Garden?
There’s a good chance that Roger Federer could also move the boathouse and pier during the construction of his property in Kempraten. But he has to accept that a public footpath along the river can cross his property.

Roger Federer is building a new house in Kempraten on Lake Zurich. The tennis star’s plans also include a boathouse, a 20-foot dock and a fairway to be dug near the waterfront. Plans for it have been available to the public since this week, reports the «Zurichsee Newspaper». The construction project had previously been suspended due to objections.
But the objections aren’t the only problem. For around 20 years, the master plan of the canton of St. Gallen had stipulated that the city of Rapperswil-Jona should build a lakeside path from Kempraten to Feldbach. If implemented, this would also lead through Roger Federer’s ownership.
However: for the Rapperswil-Jona city council, there seems to be no rush when it comes to the lakeside path. “There is currently no route along the lake planned,” says construction manager Leutenegger. However, Federer’s consent for such a course was still obtained – as an “absolute precautionary measure”. This consensus is still missing from other Kempraten landowners.
