With the right steps, the price of electricity after the moratorium may decrease. This was said on the air of “Drive straight” by the former Minister of Energy Rumen Ovcharov. According to him, after the lifting of the moratorium there is no reason to believe that there will be an increase in the price of electricity.
“It is not necessary to compensate in the same way those who need and those who do not. We keep prices low for the energy poor, but let the rich pay. Why do we compensate everyone? Why didn’t anyone bother to see which is the business they export abroad, where the prices are extremely high? Why then is he compensated for this business? The state has no interest in taxing producers who have excessive profits. “Why will the profit of Kozloduy NPP be taken away, and the others will not,” he explained.
If this was done, there would be three billion more to compensate, those in need and to reduce prices, Ovcharov said.
He added that not all problems should be transferred to the four parties in the ruling coalition.
“Even if God were prime minister, the inflation that exists all over the world would happen. It is not a function of this government. Against this background, Bulgaria has one of the most widely used support networks. We support everyone – those who need and those who do not. An example of this is electricity. There is no increase in prices here, there will not be. “Quotas have risen in the last six months, now they have fallen again,” he said.
Rumen Ovcharov also commented on the election of a new head of the BNB.
“I said a long time ago that it is important for the new manager to be a candidate who gathers public trust. Such was, for example, that of Dimitar Radev. I am surprised by the behavior of “There are such people”. Once you nominate a candidate for prime minister – it doesn’t work, the second time – it doesn’t work. They could have had a government in the summer, but to please someone’s ego, they lost half of their electorate. Now they continue like this. That is not the way politics is done, “he said.
Ovcharov expressed hope that common sense will be shown and a joint candidacy will be launched.
“Although I think it is possible to stay with the current head of the BNB,” he added.
Rumen Ovcharov is adamant that there will be no elections.
“There is no one to overthrow the current coalition unless it overthrows itself. “Solutions to the problems will be found,” he added.
