‘The Gherkin King’ has not been on television for very long, but the reality show on RTL 5 has already managed to attract many loyal viewers. Fans hope that there will be a second season, but what are the chances? In the ‘BLVD Podcast’, Rob Goossens (32) and Luuk Ikink (40) ask Oos Kesbeke about a possible sequel.
“You shouldn’t keep repeating yourself, so we’re going to discuss this in more detail.”
In The Gherkin King we follow the striking Oos Kesbeke. He has elevated pickle making to a true craft and is at the helm of the gigantic pickle empire of the same name. The reality series has been shown on RTL 5 and Videoland since October 12. Oos tells in The BLVD Podcast that he himself was approached for the series. “We once participated in the series Above water, a series about family businesses. We were asked about this.”

According to Rob, the management of RTL has been enthusiastic about the reality series for a long time. “I saw a clip six months ago that you had a collision with Daan about that huge order and when we saw that I also thought: this will work, we will enjoy watching this. Luuk and I entertain us immensely.”
When Luuk Oos asks whether there will be a second season, the pickle star says that this is still uncertain. “We all still have to talk about this very carefully. I don’t know yet, but it has to remain fun. You shouldn’t keep repeating yourself, so we will discuss this in detail.”
