Will the shepherd turn away from the expanded parliamentary meeting in Bkerke?

Hayam Shahoud writes in “Al Diyar”: The invitation that the bishops gathered in Bkerki, Patriarch Bechara Al-Rai, has delegated to Christian deputies for a consultative meeting in the patriarchal edifice, is still in the framework of study and research, at the level of Patriarch Al-Rai on the one hand, and political and partisan leaders and references on the other hand. The internal arena, and not only the Christians on the other hand, in light of information circulating about communication that took place last week between Bkerke and Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, according to informed parliamentary sources, and deals with the entire presidential scene in terms of seeking to move the stalemate surrounding the presidential election, which now requires more From an initiative and a meeting, in order to unify points of view and secure an appropriate parliamentary climate that allows the election of the President of the Republic to take place, without going back to repeating the scene of the previous sessions, which enshrined the divergence between the parliamentary blocs and bore a character far from seriousness and decisiveness, at least by some Representatives or blocs that voted in the last electoral session in particular, through “slogans” only.

According to parliamentary sources, the Christian parliamentary meeting in order to achieve the desired goal, which is to launch a new phase and from Bkerke in particular, is still uncertain, as the shepherd hesitates to initiate it, as the chances of turning a blind eye to it are equal today with the chances of calling for it. She attributes the reason for this hesitation to the political campaigns that were recorded in the past days, which have become an obstacle to meeting leaders and heads of Christian parliamentary blocs, in addition to the arrival of messages to Bkerke by some, dealing with this consultative meeting and expressing some reservations about it, knowing that Sayed Bkerke, He noticed the difficulty in establishing discussion and dialogue between 64 deputies at one time, for non-political reasons related to the difficulty of giving room for each deputies to express his opinion on the one hand, and the impossibility of all these deputies meeting on one position regarding the presidential merit.
In this regard, the parliamentary sources themselves spoke of Patriarch Al-Rahi receiving several proposals about this consultative meeting, but they indicate that the main idea was and still is, consultation under the umbrella of Bkerki, in order to put an end to the divisions in the first place, and not discussing the nomination of candidates or candidates. Determining one candidate for the 64 deputies to go to elect in Parliament, especially since Bkerki is seeking a comprehensive position among all the blocs, and not just between the Christian blocs and deputies.
