Jakarta, Selular.ID – Towards the turn of the year, Oppo hit the market by launching the Find N, its first foldable smartphone. The presence of the Find N marks Oppo’s attempt to penetrate the high-end market, following the void left by Huawei due to US sanctions at the end of 2019.
The Find N opens for pre-order on Wednesday (15/12) and goes on sale in China on Thursday (23/12) with prices starting at 7,699 yuan (US$1,200).
Oppo said that the Find N was the first folding phone to be equipped with a number of superior technologies. For example on the aspect of the screen and hinges.
Find N is equipped with a 7.1-inch screen, offering 60 percent more screen than a regular smartphone with a standard 6.5-inch screen. This phone also features a 5.49-inch screen on the outside.
The Find N’s 12-layer display, which was developed in collaboration with Samsung, can last 200,000 times without creases. The smartphone has gone through six iterations over four years of development.
After being launched in China, will Find N also be introduced to Indonesia?
According to Patrick Owen, Chief Creative Officer of Oppo Indonesia, it is possible for the Find N to be marketed in Indonesia. But for now due to software limitations, Find N will still be focused on the Chinese market.
“The high-end smartphone market, including folding screens, is still wide open in Indonesia. Along with the increase in people’s purchasing power. A number of Oppo variants targeting this segment, such as the Find X3 Pro 5G and Reno 6 5G series, have proven to be warmly welcomed by consumers,” said Patrick, in a casual chat with Cellular in Jakarta (21/12).
Patrick added, “As a leading technology company, Oppo will continue to strive to make the world a better place through the development of innovative technologies and products.
“In line with ‘Inspiration Ahead’ which is Oppo’s brand proposition, we will continue to strive to provide various added values for consumers in Indonesia,” concluded Patrick.
One of the added values can be seen from the OPPO Gallery. The showroom that puts forward a futuristic concept is located on the second floor of Plaza Indonesia with an area of 390 square meters.
