Qualcomm only launched the Snapdragon 888 chipset in December, which is powered by a new one Samsung Galaxy S21 or Oppo Find X3 Pro. The first speculations about a new version of Snapdragon 888 are already appearing on the chipset scene. Qualcomm is reportedly preparing a cheaper variant of Snapdragon 888, which will offer similar features, but instead of supporting 5G network only 4G. On the one hand, the network is a step back, on the other hand, the new chipset could power upper-middle-class phones.
Of course, Qualcomm cuts off a few features, but even so, the new chipset could offer a lot interesting parameters. Qualcomm is preparing a cheaper version of the Snapdragon 888 just for mid-range users, and therefore would the absence of 5G theoretically didn’t bother anyone.
What could be reflected on the new chipset is the partnership Qualcommu with company Leica (camera developer). The collaboration was only recently announced, but it could definitely bring camera innovations to phones that are powered by Snapdragon chipsets. Next information we will probably find out in the coming weeks, perhaps directly from Qualcomm itself.
How much would degradation to 4G bother you?
