Viewers are slowly beginning to lose hope that the newest James Bond adventure will hit theaters. Initially, the premiere of “Nie Time to Die” was to take place in April, but later it was postponed many times to finally set it to 2021.
Not only Bond fans got bored of waiting. MGM, the label responsible for the latest installment of Agent 007’s adventures, lost about $ 30-50 million due to the constant changes in the release date. According to the sources of the “Variety” magazine, the studio’s representatives realized that giving up the cinema distribution and selling the film to streaming services would avoid further financial losses. Such a step was taken by Paramount and Sony studios, which bypassed cinema premieres and sold online films such as “Operation Greyhound” with Tom Hanks in the lead role or “Coming 2 America”, the sequel to the popular “The Prince of New York” (1988), Eddie Murphy starred.
The studio, however, was not going to give Bond away for a song. Sources on the management boards of streaming services say the amount is USD 600 million, i.e. over PLN 2 billion. MGM vehemently denied these reports. “We will not comment on the rumors. The film is not for sale. Its premiere has been postponed to April 2021, so that viewers can experience the film in the cinema” – said a spokesman for the company.
It is possible that if it were only for financial reasons, “No Time To Die” would be moved to theatrical distribution. However, the production of the film cost as much as $ 250 million, and to keep the studio from bearing all the costs, it established a partnership in exchange for product placement – this was the case with the Land Rover, Omega watches and Heineken watches.
“It’s not time to die”: the plot of the film

“Don’t Time to Die”: the cast of the film
Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Rory Kinnear, Léa Seydoux, Ben Whishaw and Jeffrey Wright, enhanced by Ana de Armas, Dali Benssalah, David Dencik, Lashana Lynch, Billy Magnussen and Oscar-winning Rami Malek – this cast is worthy of the 25th installment of “Bond”, and the last installment in which we will see Daniel Craig as 007.
