There is loud information on the network about InnerSloth’s plans for player nicks.
Among Us has a few more issues that will soon be resolved. This is primarily about cheaters and scammers. However, the scams do not have to rely only on faster movement or automatic detection of Impostors.
You can also cheat with the specific name of the character, which, according to the players, is also often offensive. Therefore, information has emerged that InnerSloth will follow in the footsteps of Mediatonic and Fall Guys.
Offensive and harmful nicknames should be removed?
At this point, when an “invisible” nickname is set, the player receives information about the inability to set one. The community successfully circumvents restrictions, and often uses offensive names.
Therefore, the idea that automatically changes all nicknames of players in public lobbies to colors has been made very loud. So there is no way someone will set an offensive name. Sources of information that InnerSloth is planning something like this cannot be found. However, there are a few concepts that suggest not so much an automatic change as a menu option to get rid of offensive names.
“Convert name to color”
It seems to be the best solution that is not invasive. Whoever wants to, they could set it up. However, it is not known how the developers approach it and whether they will agree to the players’ proposal.
Fall Guys went through the same thing, the developers decided not to introduce profanity filters there, and just give a ready-made set of names that can be used.
