There are new rumors: they now claim that Sony will not be holding a major game show in June, but much later.
Although there is no E3 this year (nor was it in 2020), this does not deter most publishers from having an online event that announces a ton of games and / or their release date / period (these do not include Electronic Arts : we wrote about them earlier that there will be no EA Play Live this year). Sony, on the other hand, is changing its schedule for E3 quite a bit: it was in 2020, but not in 2019 and 2021… and it looks like they won’t have such a broadcast in 2022 either.
One of the presenters of the XboxEra podcast is Shpeshal Nick he spoke that Sony plans to retrieve an older IP in the meantime. A new Sly Cooper game is being made, but this will not be announced during the “E3 period”. Many have tagged him on Twitter about it, and he sees Sony not announcing the thief’s raccoon in June, but later. He says the “blues” will be confirmed sometime in September rather than in the summer.
Another insider, AccountNgt, joined the party. THE On Twitter writes that as early as March, he says: Sony’s big game announcement show is likely to come in September (and then the company would focus on the PlayStation VR2 in June)?) and then he addedthat the same source also hailed the company’s larger show for September, but the third tweetben was even more surprised by the announcement that this insignificantly anonymous person would also receive an announcement in 2022…
It may be logical for Sony’s September show, as the company will not have many games or release dates until the end of March next year, the end of the current business year. If you give developers more time, they can have a much more accurate idea of when they’ll be done with their creations, and since Sony Interactive Entertainment’s next game, Santa Monica Studio, God of War: Ragnarok, has only said “2022,” it may be decided this fall really kijöhet-e.
Of course, all this is not official.
