Will Smith confessed that he was discriminated against because of his skin color.
Racism continues to be a worrying issue for U.S, because despite the fact that years ago it has been tried to eradicate this type of discrimination, unfortunately there are still people who have this type of mentality. And in the Hollywood industry it has not been the exception either.
Let’s just look at the case of Will Smith, a well-known American actor who has revealed that he also suffered insults because of his skin color.
In an interview with the podcast Pod Save America, the film producer confessed to the racist experiences he went through as a result of having African-American descent. He also said that throughout his life, he received at least ‘five or six times’ insults because of his race.
Smith stated he always lived with “the feeling that racism and racists were stupid, and that only I had to be smarter”. He also explained that for him, racist people and those who insulted him at some point were “dangerous” but he came to the conclusion that “looking into the eyes of a racist, I never found anything remotely similar to the intellect.”
“We can educate ignorance. Evil is more difficult. Fortunately, there is more ignorance than evil, so I have always been encouraged by the fact that education and knowledge can alleviate some of the most dangerous aspects of racism, “emphasized Smith.
