Will Smith apologized publicly for slapping Chris Rock on stage Oscar 2022Sunday (27/3) evening Los Angeles time or Monday (28/3) morning Indonesian time.
In a statement posted on social media on Tuesday (29/3) morning Indonesian time, Will Smith called his actions “unacceptable and unjustified”.
“Violence in all its forms is toxic and destructive. My behavior at the Academy Awards last night was unacceptable and unacceptable,” wrote Will Smith.
“The jokes in my world are part of the job, but jokes about Jada’s health condition are too much for me and I reacted emotionally,” he continued.
“I want to publicly apologize to you, Chris. I clearly crossed the line and I was wrong. I am ashamed and my actions do not represent the person I want to be. There is no place for violence in a world full of love and kindness,” said Will Smith. .
He also apologized to the Academy, the producers of the show, and the entire audience as well as everyone who watched the event anywhere in the world.
“I would like to apologize to the Williams family and my King Richard family. I am deeply sorry that my attitude has tarnished what has been a wonderful journey for all of us,” said Will Smith.
