Will schools be empty again? There are already 250 of them partially or completely closed!

In the first ten days of the school year alone, sanitation was closed by 39 schools due to the spreading disease. They increase the next day. “Basically, since last week there is no day that a class does not quarantine, so we are constantly dealing with contacts with parents and dealing with hygiene, which unfortunately does not manage. I am not at all surprised, because they must have a lot,” says the president of the Association of High School Principals. Renata Schejbalová.

According to the latest statistics, a limited number of 247 schools are closed or taught. Most in the Central Bohemian, South Bohemian, Plzeň and Liberec regions. As of Friday, the Ministry of Health registered 193 teachers with a positive test and 1,123 teachers in quarantine. 393 students and pupils were positively tested, 5498 children are in quarantine.

Will children put on veils when teaching? Watch the TV Nova report:

“Depending on the situation in Prague, it would be really better for schools to close for a while, because that’s how the teaching is worthless anyway,” Schejbalová is clear.

Approximately 1.8 million students and pupils currently attend Czech schools and teach almost 170,000 teachers. According to hygienists, however, the general closure of schools is not yet planned.

“I would not want to follow this path, because closing schools for a long time, which was actually before the holidays, is not a completely happy solution. I think school attendance should take place and the solution that is offered is that at least teachers should have a respirator. , “says epidemiologist Roman Prymula.

Due to the deteriorating situation in the South Bohemian Region, the members of the Security Council agreed on Tuesday to introduce further measures. Pupils from the second stage of primary schools upwards will have to wear mouth and nose protection from Monday even during classes. The conditions for testing asymptomatic people in quarantine are also changing.

“Persons who have been ordered quarantine after significant contact with the infected and are asymptomatic will not be swabbed at the beginning of quarantine, but it will be sufficient to perform this test on the tenth day, when a possible infection is actually confirmed in the test,” explained the regional governor Ivana Stráská .

“Veils will be needed at the second stage of primary schools, at secondary schools and universities. Not only when moving in the corridors, but also during teaching,” added Stráská, adding that the measure will also reduce the number of quarantines of teachers and pupils in connection with new conditions. for quarantines issued by the Ministry of Health. Both regulations will apply from Monday, September 21.

Lukáš Bartoň, Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary School Committee, spoke in Televizní noviny about the possible closure of schools and the wearing of veils:
