Will Putin Announce the End of “SVO” After Capturing Bakhmut?

Russian dictator Putin is hoping to capture Bakhmut before May 9 to show the Russians some kind of victory. It is possible that after that he will announce the completion of the so-called “SVO”.

This was stated by a military expert, reserve colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Roman Svitan in an interview with TSN.ua.

“Most likely, the Russians need to declare at least some kind of victory on May 9, because apart from three rural toilets they have nothing to report on the work of the Russian army. Therefore, at least Bakhmut, at least this district center,” the expert says.

He is sure that the Ukrainian troops will not give them such an opportunity.

Features of the defense of Bakhmut

Svitan recalled that now the line of defense, which runs along the highways from Konstantinovka to Bakhmut and Khromovo, is under the constant control of Ukrainian troops and army artillery, which is increasingly increasing the degree of destruction of Russian troops.

“They are now from the heights of Chasov Yar and Khromovo at a glance in Bakhmut. Any movement of Russians along Bakhmut is stopped by the work of our artillery. Our spotters are working, special operations forces know how to carry out their task. They will not take this part of Bakhmut, there will be nothing to report about They will report – they occupied a certain part of Bakhmut, nothing more, “explains the expert.

Putin may announce the end of “SVO”

The reserve colonel does not rule out that Putin may soon announce the end of the so-called “SVO”. According to the expert, the head of Wagner PMC, Prigozhin, tried to launch this into the information field.

“If this is positively received by the Russian plebs, then the tsar will come out of the bunker and on May 9 will announce the end of the “SVO”, the fulfillment of certain goals. To do this, they need at least some kind of victory, Bakhmut is more or less suitable,” the expert suggested.

Svitan is sure that the opposition of the Ukrainian troops is sufficient. Therefore, the enemy will not be able to capture Bakhmut.

“In some areas we withdraw, some we occupy. In some areas there were counterattacks, which led to positive moments. In this mode, we will hold part of Bakhmut until the start of the counteroffensive. Then it will all be in the past, they will have to leave Bakhmut “, he summed up.

Recall that Yevgeny Prigozhin is intimidating the command of the Russian Federation to withdraw their “Wagnerites” from Bakhmut.

Earlier, the commander of the Ground Forces, Alexander Syrsky, said that in Bakhmut, the Armed Forces of Ukraine counterattacked in some areas.
