STOVNER (Dagbladet): The recent FRP leader Sylvi Listhaug has a strong desire to meet Jonas Gahr Støre in a separate duel about immigration and social differences.
Therefore, the FRP has sent a concrete invitation to the Labor Party with a flexible time: Listhaug is ready to meet Støre for debate anytime and anywhere before election day.
But the duel Listhaug dreams of will never come true. Støre confirms this to Dagbladet.
– There are others I intend to spend time meeting in this election campaign. I have a packed program to meet people and talk about it being ordinary people’s turn, says Støre when asked if he does not want to debate.
Sends others
– But do we get a debate between you and Listhaug on Dagbladet?
– If Listhaug wants to discuss immigration with the Labor Party, we have excellent candidates who can come and discuss it, Støre continues.
– I will meet all my party leader colleagues in the party leader debates in the future. There will be plenty of opportunity to raise issues then, the Labor leader continues.
– But you do not want to meet her in a separate duel?
– I have made a travel plan that is about meeting others than her.
Listhaug rages: – Campaign against ours
Listhaug: – Cowardice
Sylvi Listhaug took over as FRP leaders at the national meeting in May and the party has for a long time struggled with the polls. The average of the measurements shows approx. 10 percent a few weeks before the election – a sharp decline from the 15s the party achieved under Siv Jensen in 2017.
In July wrote DN that the Labor Party has a strategy of not meeting Listhaug for a debate on immigration policy. Hadia Tajik said in Dagsnytt 18 that neither she nor the Labor Party are afraid of any of the debates in the field.
Sylvi Listhaug asks voters to note Støre’s reluctance to meet her for a duel about immigration and social differences.
– This shows the cowardice of Jonas Gahr Støre. He talks on inhaling and exhaling about social differences, but does not dare meet me for a debate about the biggest driving force behind the increase in child poverty, namely immigration, Listhaug tells Dagbladet.
Listhaug finally brings out the old nickname of Støre:
– It may seem that the good old mist prince is alive and well.
