Will Marc Marquez leave Honda for Ducati? Ducati Boss Responds to Rumors

Jakarta

Ducati boss Gigi Dall’Igna responded to the future speculation Marc Marquez. According to him, Marquez will not want to join the Ducati satellite team.

Rumors linking Ducati with the eight-time world champion continued to roll in line with Honda’s slump in recent years. On the other hand, Marquez has emphasized that he will respect his contract, which will expire at the end of next year.

Meanwhile, it cannot be denied that Marquez is pressed for time to add to his collection of MotoGP championship titles after the last time he won in 2019. Marquez is already 30 years old and there is no guarantee that Honda will return to competition in the near future. As a result, it would be realistic for Marquez if in the end he did not continue with the Japanese manufacturer.

Former top MotoGP rider Jorge Lorenzo recently fanned the linking rumors Marc Marquez with Ducati. According to him, Marquez will definitely ride Desemosedici even if he has to go down to a satellite team.

However, Dall’Igna doubts that this can materialize given Marquez’s status as a MotoGP superstar. The 56-year-old Italian man actually believes that Marquez’s collaboration with Honda will continue.

“First of all, I don’t think Marc will agree to join a satellite team,” Dall’Igna told GPOne. “He’s a star and stars want to be treated like stars.”

“Since he’s come back after a few months out he’s had a great race with Honda anyway, so I’ll wait before saying that Marc and Honda will part company after 2024.”

“I doubt it. On the contrary, I believe there is every possibility for them to succeed again. While we are happy with the drivers we have now,” Dall’Igna added about Marc Marquez.
