Will Lewis Hamilton and Serena Williams soon become co-owners of Chelsea? † Premier League

Because of the war in Ukraine, Roman Abramovich decided to Chelsea to get rid of. The deadline for potential buyers to make an offer recently expired and more details about the sale are becoming known.

This is how Sky Sports discovered that Serena Williams in Lewis Hamilton contributing around £10 million each to the bid from Martin Broughton, one of the leading candidates to become Chelsea’s new owner.

Hamilton, seven-time Formula 1 world champion, and Williams, winner of 23 tennis grand slam tournaments, are not ready for their test. They have been investing part of their fortunes for several years, but a trip to football was not yet one of them.

In Hamilton’s case, there’s a downside to the investment, as he’s been a long-time fan of Arsenal, one of Chelsea’s London rivals. Of course, it is also not the case that Williams and Hamilton will really play a role in Chelsea’s policy, their share in the bid is too small for that.

The two sports stars have reportedly been in talks with Broughton for weeks. According to a source close to his consortium, the addition of Hamilton and Williams is a “serious investment decision” because of their experience building sports brands. It was previously announced that Broughton is collaborating in his bid with Sebastian Coe, president of the international athletics federation World Athletics.

Chelsea is for sale because Russian owner Roman Abramovich is leaving as a result of the war in Ukraine. Since being put on a British sanctions list due to his Russian connections, Chelsea has faced many restrictions. For example, restrictions apply when selling individual match tickets.
