According to press reports, the medical evacuation plane has traveled to Malaysia, where King Harald of Norway is currently recovering from an infection.
The SAS airline’s medical evacuation plane has traveled to Malaysia’s Langkawi, news reports VG. The 87-year-old King Harald of Norway fell ill with an infection during his trip to Malaysia and the monarch is still recovering in a local hospital.
It has not been confirmed from the court whether the medical machine is on its way to take the king back to his homeland. The Norwegian Defense Forces are ready to support air traffic in the coming days.
– We cannot comment on the time or the type of transport for security reasons. This applies to all our missions, Lieutenant Colonel Stine Barclay commented to the Norwegian VG– publication.
The Norwegian Court announced earlier this week that the king is recovering but will spend a few more days in hospital. The king has been treated by both local and Norwegian doctors.
– The goal is for the king to be able to fly home in a few days. The government organizes the transportation and the Norwegian Defense Forces is responsible for the practical arrangements for the return trip, Hovi announced.
