Ottawa Senators forward Josh Norris wants to stay away from the injury in 2024-25 and judging by general manager Steve Staios’ comments, there is hope that he will perform at his best.
The 25-year-old is continuing his comeback after suffering another left shoulder injury when he hit the net head-on on Feb. 27. The pivot therefore found himself under the knife for a third time to treat this part of the body that has been rather strained in recent years. Over the last two seasons, Norris has totaled 58 games, including only eight in 2022-23.

Asked about it during a press briefing on Wednesday, Staios wanted to be reassuring.
“I’m happy to say that Josh is ahead of where he was at this time last year. I don’t think it’s fair to put a deadline on him. Josh has done everything he can to prepare for the upcoming campaign. He’s headed in a very good direction,” the GM said, as reported by the Ottawa Sun.
So, it remains to be seen whether the forward will start training camp at the same time as his teammates. The player with six years left on his contract that takes up $7.95 million annually on the salary mass totaled 30 points during the last regular season.
