Will it? Limburg GP claims to have medicine for corona – De Dagaily Standaard

General practitioner Rob Elens from Meijel, Limburg, claims to have found a cure for corona. He says eight positively tested over 60s and 80s, with healed underlying complaints: “after four days they were all complaint-free.”

The GP told his story on the local TV channel Peel en Maas. He noticed that doctors from other countries have started to use a certain drug, which seems to work. It turns out to be a 1930s malaria drug. A combination of hydrochloroquinewhere President Trump put it previously about, with zinc and azithromycin.

The general practitioner is also loud and clear about his findings and how this should be interpreted. It looks promising, it invites a lot more research (and fast!) And if it really works it is perfect, because “It is at every pharmacy in the Netherlands”.

The hope in everyone is of course now that the doctor speaks the truth and that it can be tested quickly if it works. If it turns out to work, the next thing to hope is that it will remain available as much as possible. So there is a lot at stake. Something we hope is not treated lightly. Not that there seems to be any in this case. On the contrary, the fact that he dares to make this claim by name and shame is (hopefully) a good sign.
