Will has been through a lot in the four seasons of “Stranger Things”. Among other things, he has been abducted to the Upside-down dimension and has been obsessed with Mind Flayer.

STRANGER THINGS. (L to R) Millie Bobby Brown as Eleven, Noah Schnapp as Will Byers, Finn Wolfhard as Mike Wheeler, Charlie Heaton as JonathanByers, and Eduardo Franco as Argyle

In season four, there have been other challenges. Will has felt alone while several of the friends around him have gotten boyfriends. He also feels like a fifth wheel on the carriage when best friend Mike visits his girlfriend Eleven.

We have seen several hurtful scenes between Will and Mike where it appears that Will sees Mike as something more than a friend. His brother Jonathan also seems to catch this and assures Will that he loves him anyway.

BROTHERS: Noah Schnapp as Will and Charlie Heaton as big brother Jonathan in season 4. This scene says Schnapp was written after they had recorded the scene in the van.

Recently, Schnapp was in one «beef» med Doja Cat via social media, and he also talked to Variety about Will’s orientation.

One hundred percent safe

Schnapp has previously said that how Will identifies himself is up to the viewers to interpret. Now he says:

– Now it is one hundred percent certain that he is gay and loves Mike.

The actor elaborates:

– It’s pretty obvious this season that Will has feelings for Mike. They have deliberately dragged it out over the last few seasons. In season four, for me, it was just about playing a character who loves his best friend, but who struggles with whether he wants to be accepted or not, and who feels “wrong” and to whom he does not belong.

There is one scene in particular where Will and Mike sit in the back of a van and talk about emotions. Viewers experience that Will talks about himself, while Mike perceives that he talks about Eleven.

HURT: Noah Schnapp as Will Byers and Finn Wolfhard as Mike Wheeler in “Stranger Things” season 4.

– I remember that when we recorded that scene, I cried, and we kept on all day. When we saw it on the screen, it was more discreet.

– That day it was a lot of fun. I loved playing with Will. This scene was very important to him, because it really cemented the truth: That he loves his best friend, and does not know how to tell him, says Schnapp to Variety.

The scene has also become a meme on social media.

– I have seen that picture everywhere, the actor confirms.
