Will hurt sales at the end of 2021, chip scarcity will continue until 2022

Jakarta, Selular.ID – The chip crisis is expected to extend beyond December 2021, according to some projections. Even recently the CEO of ARM, Simon Segars, assessed that the component crisis would worsen to the detriment of sales of technology products including mobile phones during the year-end celebration period.

In his view, the gap he observes is widening between supply and demand, which is seen as the most extreme. Seeing this, he said that the scarcity of this chip would continue until the end of 2022.

This is because at the end of 2021 chip manufacturers will grapple with completing unfulfilled orders. His views are no different from those shared by chipmakers and industry experts, even with some extensive efforts to bridge the supply and demand gap.

One who shares Simon’s view is Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger, who also predicts the global chip shortage will continue not until 2023.

Now on record chip shortages appear to be getting worse in some cases, affecting production deadlines and stalling important aspects of the production schedule.

Some of the toughest challenges in the chip manufacturing business are continuing to expand their operations and technology to address chip shortages. Some governments also intervene to monitor and improve supply chains to curb inefficiencies and delays in those chains.

For the time being, these steps don’t seem to have fully yielded the desired results.
