Dos Santos has been training in a private way since the summer of 2021, when his contract with Club América ended, a team that has also given him support by lending their facilities to carry out his physical conditioning.

In the United States, the fact that Gio trained at the Inter Miami facilities caused an echo, speculating a possible signing of the midfielder with the Florida team, since in the United States the transfer window is still open.
According to the information revealed by the journalist Franco Panizo, Gio Dos Santos was only training in his physical conditioning at the Inter Miami facilities, but he did not enter into any negotiation with the board of directors of this or another United States MLS team.
At 32 years old, Giovanni is close to completing a year without playing, since April 11, 2021 was his last game as a professional, playing 15 minutes against the UANL Tigres.
With the Eagles, his last club, Gio added 4 goals and 2 assists in just over 40 games.
