What can’t Will Ferrell do? The “Barbie” star can act, sing, dance and seemingly cheer up a crowd of college kids on game day.
Over the weekend, Ferrell returned to his alma mater, the University of Southern California, playing songs for a fraternity party and gathering students for the USC-Arizona football game on Saturday night. In several videos of TikTokFerrell can be seen behind a DJ booth surrounded by students.
Los clips show the “Strays” star — sporting sunglasses and USC merchandise, of course — swaying and bobbing his head to Kanye West and Jay-Z’s “In Paris” and “Eye of the Tiger” by Survivor. Around them, dozens of students sing and jump to the rhythm of the music.
Ferrell stopped by USC’s Sigma Alpha Mu fraternity on Saturday, during the university’s family weekend. Hours later, the Trojans defeated the University of Arizona Wildcats 43-41, in a triple overtime play that left linebacker Mason Cobb with a rib injury.
The “Anchorman” star graduated from USC in 1990 with a degree in sports information. His son Magnus, 19, is dedicated to music and is currently a sophomore at USC.
Ferrell, 56, and his wife Viveca Paulin, 54, have two other children, Mattias and Axel.
Saturday’s frat party wasn’t the first time the Emmy winner stopped by USC to show some school spirit. Earlier this year, the “Elf” actor crashed a training session to help the football team get excited about the upcoming season.
Ferrell channeled USC Trojan images in 2013 to lead the school’s marching band. Wearing a skirt, a metal breastplate and a helmet from the Trojan War. “The Coed” from “Saturday Night Live” twirled a prop sword while the band played their fight song.
In 2017, Ferrell also delivered the graduation speech of the USC graduating class. For nearly 25 minutes, the actor poked fun at his work, reflected on his time in school and how he got started as a comedian.
“For many of you who may not have it all figured out, that’s okay. That’s the same chair I sat in. Enjoy the process of your search, without succumbing to the pressure of the result,” she told the then-recent graduate. “Trust your instincts, keep throwing darts at the bullseye, don’t listen to the critics and you’ll figure it out.”
