Will FC Bayern meet Lionel Messi again? Why this scenario is now possible despite the Argentine’s departure to Miami.

Munich – Lionel Messi said goodbye to Europe in the summer of 2023 and moved from Paris Saint-Germain to Inter Miami on a free transfer. But in 2025, Messi could not only see PSG again, but also meet some of the top clubs with whom he duel in the Champions League for years.

As winners of the Supporter’s Shield, Inter Miami will be one of 32 teams taking part in next year’s FIFA Club World Cup. “The team is now officially one of the 32 best clubs in the world. And this despite the fact that the club has only been around for a few years. Now they can continue the club’s history on the international stage,” said FIFA President Gianni Infantino, who congratulated the club owners around David Beckham, who only founded Inter Miami in 2018.

Messi and his colleagues held their own against New England Revolution 6:2 (2:2) on the last matchday of the regular MLS season and increased their points account to 74 points. Miami thus set a league record: never before has a team scored so many points in an MLS season. The previous record was held by New England, which scored a total of 73 points in 2021.
