Will England again dominate European competitions?

The 16 teams that will play the Round of 16 have been defined UEFA Champions League there it UEFA Europa League, which will be raffled for in a few hours. And, how could it be otherwise, one league has shown dominance above the rest: The Premier League from England.

The English first division is the competition that has made the most teams among the 16 best teams in Europe with three in the UEFA Champions League (Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool) and two in the UEFA Europa League (Arsenal and Manchester United).

Five of the six greats in England have been among the best teams in Europe and have shown that the Premier League is the best competition in the world, more for its globality and the ability of each of the teams to have a squad capable of competing in all the competitions that a season has.

And, beyond the five, it seems that the five teams are aspiring to win both titles. Manchester City is, along with Bayern Munich, the main candidate to win the UEFA Champions League, while Chelsea and Liverpool seem like two high-level outsiders.

On the other hand, Manchester United and Arsenal are the two strongest teams in the UEFA Europa League, so a final between the two would not be crazy.

Teams still in the running in the UEFA Champions and UEFA Europa League:

England: Manchester City, Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal y Manchester United

Spain: Real Madrid, Granada and Villarreal CF

Germany: Bayern Múnich y Borussia Dortmund

Italy: AS Roma

France: PSG

Czech Republic: Slavia Prague

Portugal: FC Porto

Netherlands: Ajax de Amsterdam

Croatia: Dinamo Zagreb

Spanish teams are showing their faces more in the Europa League than in the Champions League but they do not seem to be the main candidates to win the title. It is surprising that there is only one representative from Serie A, Ligue 1 and Liga NOS.

Will English teams win the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League titles again?
