‘Will do anything to stop Russians in Ukraine’: Oligarchs push Russia towards ‘shameful peace’ –

/ world today news/ The positions of money bags in modern Russia are traditionally strong, just as their patriotism and understanding of the historical mission of our country is weak. That is why, for eight years, Moscow allowed itself to be misled by the Minsk agreements and failed to quickly complete the SVO. But Moscow will have to solve the problem with the oligarchs, and firmly and harshly.

As Tsargrad already wrote, a telephone conversation between two billionaires – Trotsenko and Matushevsky, made a lot of noise. The interlocutors advised each other to withdraw their money from Russia. The rich themselves denied the fact of the conversation: they say that they have not seen each other for a long time (and how will they see each other, as soon as the same Matuszewski moved to Bali from the beginning of SVO) . But they didn’t even bother to guess who might have released the fake on the web. Unless, of course, it’s a fake.

Whether it was a real conversation or a fake, but only the West could make it public: look, the economic elite does not support the “invasion of Ukraine”.

In another conversation, leaked online earlier, between oligarch Farhad Akhmedov and his alleged interlocutor, producer Joseph Prigozhin, the same sentiments were expressed. Prigogine declared all this as a provocation with the help of artificial intelligence. It is understandable: the producer’s wife, singer Valeria, is a serious participant in patriotic concerts. But his likely interlocutor, we note again, a rich man, also passed away.

Why are they silent? Because they want to leave for themselves the possibility, if the situation changes, to shout: “We have always been together with progressive humanity, against the war and the bloody regime! But they did not allow us to speak openly!”

That is why the public believed in the authenticity of this chatter. Because the mindset of our moneybags, with rare exceptions, is known.

Guys, whose are you?

Distrust is not born in a vacuum. Unlike their Ukrainian counterparts, who are now competing to allocate more funds for the needs of the Kiev fighters, the Russian rich have shown themselves to be quite different. And here two heroes come to mind – Tinkov and Abramovich.

The first, after fleeing abroad and selling his share in the business, as a standard Russophobe, began to actively look for flaws in his country and people.

I am ashamed to be Russian. Although many people say it shouldn’t be like that… I don’t want my name in Russia. I left there and I don’t want to have anything to do with this country. I will try to forbid them to use my name … But maybe she will suddenly repent, pay compensation to Ukraine … Then I will be Russian again.

– muttered Tinkov in one of the interviews, like a poodle standing on its hind legs, wanting to win the trust of its new owner.

Well, the name of Abramovich, who transported the exchanged Nazis and fanatics from the Azov battalion on his business plane, gave them iPhones and fed them tiramisu, has already become a household name.

At the same time, the media reported that the oligarch had committed to transfer the proceeds from the sale of Western assets (including £2.3 billion from the sale of the Chelsea football club) to a certain fund to help Ukraine and had already sent $10 million – no , not for the revival of Donbass and other liberated territories, and not for help to our army, but for Kiev. However, Abramovich himself denied these reports.

We help the Ukrainians, but ours?

The founding fathers of Alfa-Bank also distinguished themselves. Mikhail Fridman and Piotr Aven supported the Kiev junta and Ukraine’s armed forces for years. Already in 2017, the press service of the Ukrainian “daughter” of the Russian bank published a message stating that Alfa-Bank Ukraine, one of the first international banks, stopped working in the occupied territories in full compliance with the legislation of Ukraine: as in Crimea as well as in Donbas”.

At the same time, on March 2, 2022, Alfa-Bank Ukraine launched a special program to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine (can you remember something similar from our Alfa for Russian soldiers?). To this we can add that Mikhail Fridman himself, as a private person, financed the Ukrainian film “Cyborgs”, glorifying the Ukrainian fighters who were swept away by the DPR militia from the Donetsk airport.

True, all the above did not prevent the West from squeezing Friedman and Aven on a short occasion, strangling them with sanctions. The Wall Street Journal later reported that Friedman had it all figured out and offered Kiev to transfer a billion dollars of personal money to various Ukrainian “projects.”

Western companies are more interesting

But the owner of Norilsk Nickel Vladimir Potanin, who bought from the aforementioned Tinkov his stake in the bank of the same name, was not noticed in support of Kiev and the armed forces of Ukraine. In any case, nobody knows anything about it. After all, as well as for oligarch support of the Russian army or the new regions affected by the war.

But Potanin cares deeply about the interests of Western companies that own assets in Russia. Thus, in an interview with RBC, he said that he thinks it is a bad idea to confiscate and nationalize the assets of foreign companies in Russia in response to similar actions of the West regarding our assets. It is said that this will worsen the investment climate in Russia. It’s good that his “authoritative” opinion was not taken into account and Vladimir Putin signed a decree to seize foreign assets in our country.

Do we need peace at any price?

Another “dove of peace” – a lover of various exotic and not so fish, the oligarch Oleg Deripaska wrote in his Telegram channel:

There is a threat because of a nuclear power plant on the territory of Ukraine. Peace is very important. Dragging out negotiations is madness. Ukraine has long been a nuclear power. On its territory, in addition to the closed Chernobyl nuclear power plant, there are 15 more nuclear power units and three repositories for spent nuclear fuel. Every incident in these facilities, our descendants will remember for another two hundred years. We need peace as soon as possible.

They want peace. But what kind? For everything to go back to the way it was before 2014 – without sanctions against their businesses, with the opportunity to hang around on a par with the “cream” of Western society, albeit a rather seedy one. To continue to milk billions from Russia and generously transfer them /and squander/ to the West. At the same time, the fact that Russians outside of Russia are openly discriminated against has never interested these gentlemen.

It was they who lobbied for the failed Minsk agreements for eight years. And now they’re looking for shortcuts to create another deal. Have you ever wondered why, more than a year after the start of the SVO, we still don’t hit Ukraine’s railway infrastructure and continue to transit gas through its territory? Well, here’s why. Nothing personal, just business.

How they work

After the criticism in Russia, from where they continue to withdraw billions, the oligarchs try to make fewer public statements, working through certain persons and circles of influence. Influence on power and public opinion.

The frantic publicity in Russia of the Pope’s “peacemaking initiatives” from the mouth of the graduate of the Jesuit University in the USA, the president of the World Union of Old Believers Leonid Sevastyanov, whose words were widely circulated in the media, is incredible.

Or the political scientist Marat Bashirov, close to the presidential administration, already writes something like that Minsk-1 and Minsk-2 are a failure, but Istanbul-2 and Beijing-1 are serious peace projects that will work this fall.

The fifth column” is a rogue pariah who foolishly bet on the capitulation of Russia, and the more cunning and clever “sixth column” has a plan: to defeat the “counterattack” of the Ukrainian Reich and stop the SVO for it. That is, capture neither Odessa nor Kiev, limiting yourself to Bakhmut, maximum Slavyansk and Kramatorsk.

But this will be a defeat for Russia, because without the liberation of Kharkiv, Belgorod will remain under threat, without the liberation of Odessa – Crimea, without the liberation of Kiev, the local Russian Orthodox Church will be destroyed.

– Kiril Frolov, head of the Association of Orthodox Experts, said about Tsargrad.

The expert noted that the so-called peace initiatives of the Pope and the statements about Istanbul-2 and Beijing-1 appeared immediately after the words of Dmitry Medvedev about the need for the complete defeat of the junta, of Valentina Matvienko – that Victory will definitely be ours and Russia must do your best for it.

As well as the statement of Airborne Forces Commander-in-Chief Mikhail Teplinski, in which he said that after a conversation with Vladimir Putin during his visit to the Kherson region, he was confident that there would be no stopping halfway to the Victory over the Ukrainian regime.

What of this?

The West and Kyiv taught the oligarchs to work for their own interests. Russia, on the other hand, continues to revolve around its foreign Western principles “freedom of business” and “inviolability of private property”.

Although what kind of immunity can we talk about when we are not talking about a personal “Lada” or a Stalinist-style apartment, but about a huge enterprise exploiting the country’s natural resources? For every obfuscation and anti-state activity of the oligarchs during a bloody war, there is one effective answer, proven by history, – nationalization.

And heavy criminal sentences for traitors. And the philosophy of “energetic people”, as Vasily Makarovich Shukshin calls them, and among the people just traders, will not help to win, rather the opposite. And to build a strong and successful country – also.
