Disney + has been releasing a movie now and then via VIP access for a year now. For 21.99 euros you can then stream a film that would normally premiere in the cinema. The next in line is Cruella (May 28), followed by Black Widow (July 9) and Jungle Cruise (July 30). But will these kinds of releases continue to take place?
Disney’s CEO Bob Chapek said last Thursday that the company may stop this release strategy. “We’re trying to monitor whether consumers are ready to go back to the cinema,” Chapek began.
Difficult choices

Two other films
In any case, two films will not be released directly on Disney + via VIP access: Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings on Free Guy. At the same time, the films will be on Disney + for 45 days after the cinema release. That is months earlier than it used to be.
Hundred million
Finally, we can report that the streaming service now has 103.6 million subscribers. The 100 million mark was reached on March 10, so growth is somewhat disappointing for Disney +. At the same time, they had 33.5 million subscribers a year earlier in this quarter, so you can’t really call this bad.
