Rumor has it that the “Ghost Rickshaw” attraction in Phantasialand near Cologne is closing. But is that really true? Wa.de checks with Phantasialand.
Brühl – At the proud age of 43, the “Ghost Rickshaw” attraction is an integral part of Phantasialand in Brühl near Cologne (NRW). In addition to the newest rides, the ghost rickshaw is known to both young and old visitors. However, for several months now, rumors have been circulating that the ghost train might close. A TikTok video also says that the ghost rickshaw is finally going to say goodbye. When asked, Phantasialand also commented on the speculation.
TikTok video fuels rumors about closure of Ghost Rickshaw – this is what Phantasialand says
The ghost rickshaw opened in the “China Town” theme area back in 1981. Now several sources say that the cult dark ride is apparently about to close. “We were also told a few months ago by a friend of ours that internal discussions had already taken place about what would become of this ghost rickshaw or whether it would stay,” says a TikTok video from the “adventureexploring” account on January 26. At that time, there was no further information – not even from Phantasialand itself.

When asked, Phantasialand barely commented on the current rumors. Press spokeswoman Christina Hermann simply said that the attraction was “open and available for our guests to experience.” Phantasialand did not comment on a possible renovation or closure of the cult attraction.

Reopening of the Talocan attraction in Phantasialand still unclear
In addition, Phantasialand is currently unable to provide much information about the reopening of the “Talocan” ride. An incident occurred there at the beginning of June in which a gondola stopped halfway up after overturning. According to Hermann, maintenance work is currently being carried out on the attraction. “We cannot provide you with any further information about the technical background or the duration of the maintenance work.”
