Pots and Pots Say-Food restaurant in Zagreb is the only restaurant in the world where robot chefs prepare ready-to-eat meals in one pot without any human intervention other than filling the devices with fresh ingredients.
Do you crave lamb gnocchi, black risotto, or zucchini pasta? You can order any of these in a Croatian restaurant, where a robotic chef can prepare about 70 different meals.
The restaurant owners say they believe Pots and Pots Say-Food in Zagreb is the only restaurant in the world where robot chefs prepare ready-to-eat meals in a single bowl without any human intervention other than filling the machines with fresh ingredients.
The devices add oil and seasonings according to digital recipes prepared by a human chef.
In other similar restaurants, robots prepare cooked and fried potatoes and hamburgers, prepare pizza, serve meals or deliver them to homes, but “there is no robot capable of preparing a meal in one bowl of fresh food,” according to Hervoye Boyas, one of the restaurant’s owners. .
It took Pouyas Partners seven years to turn the idea into reality and opened the restaurant last year, after investing more than 1 million euros ($1.07 million).
“It was, of course, a challenge to prepare ready meals from fresh food in the shortest possible time and with the most delicious taste possible,” Boyas told Reuters at the restaurant, which relies on advanced technologies.
The restaurant’s patrons seem to agree.
“The food is of high quality,” says Lovro Petar Andreesque, 18, who came to the restaurant for his birthday.
And the robotic chef is called Gama Chef, and he is electronically “taught” how to cook a meal by the restaurant’s chief chef. Then the robotic chef remembers the meal and repeats it an infinite number of times.
Boyas stated that he has five machines, each of which can prepare four meals within 15 minutes, or cook about 100 meals together within an hour, adding that one machine will cost ten thousand euros if it is offered for sale.
