As the Delta variant spreads across the American Union, the President’s Administration Biden has announced that a third dose of the vaccine will be offered against coronavirus as a booster in order to maintain immunity against the virus.

If the FDA and CDC approve the booster plan, the third dose of the vaccine will begin to be applied from September 20 to all citizens over 18 years of age who have received the first two doses of vaccines from Pfizer or Moderna.

“It is the best way to protect ourselves from any new variant that may arise”, the White House leader said Wednesday when announcing the news.

As mentioned by the President, the reinforcement will be applied to face the new variants that may arise.

This measure occurs when countries of the European Union, like Croatia and Austria, they tighten their entry rules by establishing expiration dates with a minimum of 270 days in the vaccination certificates for North American travelers and those from the rest of the world.

That being said, it is likely that people need to “update” their vaccines before planning trips abroad according to more countries of the European Union join to demand certificates with expiration date.

For now USA It does not have regulations that require a booster vaccination to enter or travel within the territory. It has also not been made known the establishment of expiration dates, however this could happen once the plan for the third dose is finalized.
