BARCELONA – Even though the fairy tale called “Winter transfer window 2023” has already written its last lines, signed and drawn the epilogue, transfer shenanigans are still happening behind the scenes weeks after.

For now, teams have to make do with the arsenal at their disposal, but no one has stopped them from targeting summer transfer targets. One of those could be Barcelona winger Ansu Fati, whose departure is not being talked about loudly, but renowned Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano said in yesterday’s news window on his YouTube channel that several English clubs are showing significant interest in Fati.

“Ansu Fati is in our plans, we want to keep him. At this moment we are not thinking about selling this player, but we also cannot predict the future.” Barcelona director Joan Laporta said at a recent press conference.

Fabrizio Romano then added the information that Fati’s agent confirmed not only the interest, but also specific offers from unnamed English clubs. In addition, they inquired about possible personal requests of a native of Guinea-Bissau. The Italian journalist added that clubs such as Liverpool FC, Manchester United and Arsenal FC have not yet negotiated anything directly with Barcelona.

Will Barcelona see the return of Lionel Messi?

Perhaps every football fan remembers Lionel Messi’s last press conference in the summer of 2021, during which he had to announce his departure from the big Catalan club to Paris. The situation at both clubs has changed since then, they have new managers and, most importantly, Messi’s current contract with Saint-Germain expires in the summer.

According to sources available to Fabrizio Romano, Messi is currently only in talks with PSG and is not accepting any other offers. The new world champion with Argentina should meet with PSG officials this month to discuss the length of the next contract, salary and other details. Messi’s priority is to stay in the French capital and he is not going anywhere for now.
