The dead tiger is a wild Amur tiger, an endangered species, and genetic analysis shows that it is the same species as the Korean tiger.
This is because it was a habitat for Korean tigers connected with the Changbaek Mountains and the coastal waters, which run through the Yanbian area, which was called Baekdudaegan and North Gando, at the peak of Mt. Baekdu.
Recently, wild tigers frequently appear in the Changbai Mountains of China. Footprints and excrement are found, and sometimes they come down to private houses to bite and kill cattle or dogs.
Why are tigers that lived in the mountains of Maritime Province so often seen in China?
Experts analyze that the wild tiger population has increased significantly in recent years, and is moving largely in search of its own habitat.
Signs are being spotted that this line is expanding to the northern part of the Korean Peninsula, around Mount Baekdu or to the south of the Tuman River.
If this phenomenon persists, experts observe that a Korean tiger and a Baek Du-beom may appear in the Baekdu-daegan area as early as 10 years.
