It is a critical situation, says the Zurich city councilor Andreas Hauri to the “Tages-Anzeiger”. The health institutions in the city will soon be overloaded. Therefore, immediate action is necessary.
Hauri therefore demands that all 24-hour shops in the canton have to close at night because there are often crowds there. The planned Sunday sales on December 20 and 27 are also a thorn in the side of the City of Zurich’s head of health. These should also be canceled.
In principle, the City of Zurich could decide on these rules on its own. However, Hauri is striving for a coordinated approach so that the rules apply throughout the Canton of Zurich. The Zurich government council apparently wants to discuss the demands on Tuesday.
The canton of Thurgau already issued stricter corona measures on Monday. The canton of St.Gallen wants to inform on Wednesday.
