For many, confinement was an opportunity for introspection to reinvent themselves professionally. Wilfried Tiffon-Aillaume has taken the plunge. Established since 2011 in Vieil-Angoulême, the jeweler has moved its boutique workshop, Temps Précieux, to 40 rue Victor-Hugo in Barbezieux-Saint-Hilaire. The choice of heart and reason for this almost fifty-year-old.
“I have lived in Barbezieux for thirty years, it has become my adopted city. I was also tired of taking the RN 10 every day and I wanted to simplify my life. He goes in search of a new setting for his new business. “Because I sold my business in Angoulême to create this business,” explains the tradesman. He sets his sights on a building downtown. On the ground floor, a 50 m² room houses his workshop and a tastefully decorated boutique. Art Deco-style Gaston Poisson furniture has been transformed into showcases for displaying jewellery. “Products with a strong character that are not usually found in small towns like Barbezieux”, boasts Wilfried Tiffon-Aillaume.
Custom Creations
He convinced the Lalique art crystal factory to reference his costume jewellery. A know-how of excellence that corresponds to its creative effervescence. “I continue to do what I have always loved, creating jewelry. The jeweler sublimates precious stones mainly from Brazil where a friend finds him the most beautiful specimens. Creations that can be personalized to the extreme.
The jeweler has carved out a fine reputation for the twenty-five years that he has been practicing his art. “I have a big demand for custom-made jewelry from old sets. It is a much cheaper way to recycle gold and stones than a finished product. There are only advantages! Repairs and maintenance are also part of his daily life.
Opened at the beginning of July, his boutique workshop has already settled in the landscape. “I expected the first month to be a little quiet with the holidays but it’s quite the opposite. A good omen for the future.
