It’s time for the couples weekend. The married couples gather in a beautiful villa to all enter the final phase of the experiment. Wilfred and François also arrive together. In the previous episode, Wilfred reveals that the cake is finished. He is in love, but François has made it known that he does not feel it yet. Nevertheless, they continue with the experiment together.
Wilfred immediately gets straight to the point when Carlo asks Boszhard about the relationship status. “There’s some doubt.” He indicates that the doubts started with François, which means that Wilfred now also has doubts himself. The Emmenaar feels disappointment.
It’s time for the circle talk. The couples all sit on a large sofa and discuss with the group how they are doing. François says: “It will only land when you are home. You are constantly asked: ‘Are you in love?’ That makes you think. I was very busy and thought: this has to happen. I have to feel different when I see him. And that just wasn’t there at the time.”
That announcement was not pleasant for Wilfred. “I’m pretty quick with my feelings. I already had the feeling that things weren’t right on that side.” Wilfred feels a distance and a certain restraint from his husband. And that while he is in love with François. He quickly closed the doors to avoid further disappointment.
Loes tries to help the men with their marital crisis. “Maybe you should go back to basics. What is good is good. Why does it always have to be stamped? If you do that, you will also create expectations and the accompanying disappointments. Because I think you like him very much and he still you.” Those words touch François enormously. “There are so many emotions going through you. You are forced to think about yourself and I’m not very good at that.”
Later in the evening, the couple is assisted by Richelle and Patricia. They indicate that François may have judged too quickly. “I find it very annoying that the communication between Wilfred and François did not go so well. Then one of them becomes insecure, so that the other also pulls up the wall. Then you lose each other,” says Patricia.
