Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
Deontay Wilder hospitalized after losing by knockout to Tyson Fury, Sunday (10/10). Wilder broke his arm and finger after being beaten by Fury for the second time.
Wilder lost by knockout in the 11th round to Fury in the fight for the WBC world heavyweight title in Las Vegas, United States, Sunday (10/10). This was Wilder’s second loss to Fury in a slick trilogy of heavyweight boxing.
Not only did he lose by knockout and fail to reclaim the world title from Fury, Wilder also had to be hospitalized. Wilder’s coach, Malik Scott, said the boxer from the United States had serious injuries despite being in stable condition.
“Wilder is doing fine. He’s in the room, I took him to the ward. He saw the doctor after the fight, he’s fine. Cracked lip, broken hand, broken finger or knuckle. But life goes on [untuk Wilder], ” Scott told ESNews quoted from Daily Metro.
After being defeated by Fury, Wilder immediately left the ring. Wilder doesn’t respond to Fury’s kind words and friend requests. The condition led Fury to call Wilder a ‘sick loser’.
“Wilder sees Fury as a man he has serious issues with, with how Wilder feels about the accusations [curang], certain things he’s actually seen with his own eyes,” Scott said of why Wilder abandoned Fury after the duel.
Scott himself did not have time to congratulate Fury and his coach, Sugar Hill Steward. Scott considers Sugar Hill a good coach.
“After the fight Wilder felt the same way. When he left the ring and I followed him out, I planned to shake hands with my rival just to say, ‘Good fight,'” Scott said.
“When I say rival, I don’t just mean Tyson Fury, I mean Sugar Hill, who I’ve always had a great relationship with. He’s a great coach and I said even before the fight, he’s a really good guy,” Scott said.
