In the 20th year since their founding, the “Wilden Weiber Okriftel” have combined carnival with Hollywood. The result is, as usual, a colorful and entertaining session.

Okriftel – Husbands drove up “mommy taxis” outside, from which dazzling ladies emerged, and inside the first knocks hit the tables. The Wilden Weiber Okriftel (WWO) invited people to three women’s sessions, which, as always, were completely sold out. Dressed in long black dresses with gold sashes, the currently 21 Wild Women marched into the hall in the club house on Saturday evening to great acclaim for the first meeting. On the occasion of 20 years of WWO, a wish motto was fulfilled: “WWO meets Hollywood – the Oscar goes to. . .”.

Some visitors had transformed themselves into film stars, like the girls in “little black dresses”, with sunglasses and buns à la Audrey Hepburn. Sibylle Kreitz came to Okriftel with friends. “It’s always a nice meeting with a great program, they really try hard,” emphasized the Kelsterbach native, who also celebrated her birthday here on Saturday evening. For Ines Wehe, the audience is crucial: “The mood is simply better among women.”

Support from the Rhine-Main area, Mainz and the Palatinate

“Faschingsmensch” and second chairwoman Alexandra Jarosch was proud that the meeting president, first chairwoman and founding member Daniela Heislitz, had once again set up a “murder program”. These included local girls’ dance groups, such as the Diamonds from TV Okriftel, in which Jarosch used to be active, as well as friendly clubs and artists from the entire Rhine-Main area, from Mainz and the Palatinate.

The evening was opened by the Mixed Motion group, young women and men from TV Okriftel, who presented a rousing dance as football players and cheerleaders. Then “Frau Härtschd”, alias Oliver Betzer, stumbled onto the stage and talked about menopausal symptoms. A volley of laughter resulted in his hips being described as a “schnitzel cemetery”. Heislitz had a good nose for speakers, said Jarosch. For example, young star Lea Kuhn from Bornheim was invited, having already been on stage at the age of nine and seen on HR television. She revealed details about her dad and his midlife crisis.

“Repeat offenders” such as the men’s show dance group Many Monkeys from Bad Kreuznach or the veteran of the Frankfurt cultural scene Bäppi alias Thomas Bäppler-Wolf are always welcome. The WWO has already proven itself to be a trendsetter on several occasions. So they invited the first gay men’s guard in the Main-Taunus district, who then became welcome guests everywhere, explained Jarosch. Among the mottoes over the years, she particularly liked “Bollywood” with great costumes, the Japan theme or the neon session with black light and laser.

It started in 2004 with 15 brave, carnival-loving girls. The currently 21 active Wild Women are between the ages of 19 and over 70. Why women’s meetings are particularly important to you? “Women can be whatever they want here. There is a lively celebration and in the end everyone is on the tables,” is Jarosch’s opinion. Men also have a different sense of humor.

Visitors were able to register their needs with “Dorscht” signs. Following the example of the Mainz funzel sessions, drinks must be purchased on site and you can bring your own food. The WWO finances the sessions with “purchased” show contributions through drinks and entrance fees.

Jarosch admits that you always need a break after the sessions. Then it’s back to finding a motto; the women are involved in the costume, decoration and entertainment committee as well as in program development as well as press and public relations. Events such as the summer festival and the mulled wine evening are also organized throughout the year. “Our men support us, without them we can’t do it,” says Jarosch gratefully. One man was even allowed to sit in the audience: Michael Reber from the now disbanded house and court band “Spitzebube”. It would be interesting to enjoy the session from the other side. Solo entertainer Holger Metschan had his premiere at the WWO instead.

Jarosch emphasized that they would be happy to have offspring. But it must be clear that involvement in the club does not just mean fun, but work and effort. Things are going on behind the scenes and things are always going wrong. “But here everything is well organized and structured and the atmosphere is great, I really like that,” emphasizes Jarosch. And Daniela Heislitz advised everyone involved to keep humor in their hearts, because: “A lot of things are easier with humor.” (Eva-Maria Homann)
