Schwenningen (dpa) – As early as Tuesday, the team of the former Düsseldorf professional and trainer Christof Kreutzer could make everything clear in a direct duel with the Krefeld penguins and shoot the penguins in the DEL2.
The Wild Wings had an easy game on Sunday against DEG, whose coach Harold Kreis is moving to Schwenningen after the season. Düsseldorf, who are not yet sure of a place in the playoff qualifying round, had a disastrous day and conceded the goals far too easily.
DEL bottom light Krefeld won in the evening at promoted Bietigheim Steelers with difficulty 2:1 (0:1, 1:0, 0:0) after a penalty shootout, but lost another point to the penultimate Schwenningen due to the draw after regular time. Bietigheim, on the other hand, is finally saved.
Second in the table, Grizzlys Wolfsburg secured their right to participate in the Champions League next year with a 1-0 (0-0, 0-0, 1-0) win over the Augsburger Panthers. Behind them, EHC Red Bull Munich achieved the highest DEL home win ever with a 9:1 (1:0, 6:1, 2:0) against ERC Ingolstadt.
On the other hand, there is frustration at the Adler Mannheim, who after the third defeat in a row as fifth in the table now have to worry about home rights in the playoff quarterfinals. The team of trainer Pavel Gross lost 0:4 (0:2, 0:1, 0:1) at the Fischtown Pinguins and thus for the second time within 48 hours against the team from Bremerhaven, who already secured at least the first playoff round. At the same time, fourth-placed Straubing increased the gap to Mannheim to six points with the 6:3 (1:0, 0:3, 5:0) at champions Eisbären Berlin.
