“Wild” clinical trials
Incarcerated in the wake of the time to organize his transfer to Paris, he was presented on Saturday to the examining magistrate to whom he had not responded for several months. The magistrate, in accordance with the requisitions of the Paris prosecutor’s office, seized the judge of freedoms and detention of a possible revocation of his judicial control, according to the judicial source. But the professor asked for a few days to prepare his defense and was jailed on Saturday awaiting the hearing by Wednesday.
The professor had already been arrested in December in the Gard under a warrant issued by the examining magistrate, according to the daily The world. But he had to be hospitalized automatically in psychiatry a few days before being left free on December 18 under judicial supervision, still according to The world.
Mr. Fourtillan has been indicted since March 2020 for having conducted tests without authorization with patches containing two molecules, called valentonine and 6-methoxy-harmalan, in the hope of treating several neurological diseases (Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, sleep disorders …).
Pinned by the Medicines Agency
The tests were organized by the professor in a Catholic abbey near Poitiers on more than 350 patients, within the framework of his structure, the Josefa Fund, Vice-chaired by Prof. Henri Joyeux, him too contested by the medical community especially for its anti-vaccine positions.
The two men are indicted in this investigation, opened after a denunciation of the facts in September 2019 by the Medicines Agency (ANSM). “We are on the edge of charlatanism”, had castigated at the time the director of inspection at the ANSM, Bernard Celli. Attacked for defamation by Professor Fourtillan, he was sentenced in 2020 in Bordeaux to a € 1,000 fine for these comments.
Professor Jean-Bernard Fourtillan, who has strong support shown on social networks, was also highlighted in the documentary in Hold-Up. He claims that the virus “Was manufactured by the Institut Pasteur”, a false information verified by AFP on several occasions and denied by the Institute, which filed a complaint against him.
