Woodward is not planning to fire Solskjaer yet, but is already taking into account the manager’s departure in the back of his mind. He is a big fan of Pochettino and hopes to bring him to Old Trafford should Solskjaer be fired. Woodward would have already made contact with the Argentinian coach.
Pochettino is without a club after his dismissal from Spurs and would like to get back to work. He declined several offers, including from the Portuguese club Benfica. He was also in the interest of FC Barcelona after the dismissal of Quique Setién.
