Wild police chase ends with car in the ditch

A police pursuit ended on the A16 highway near Breda on Wednesday evening. There, the fleeing car crashed, after which the car ended up in the verge. One of the three occupants suffered minor injuries. The driver, a Frenchman, has been arrested for driving under the influence, speeding and causing danger to other road users.

The chase started just before nine o’clock, near Nieuwegein. At the moment the car entered Brabant, another ten police cars joined the chase. The flight ended around half past nine when the suspect ended up in the ditch near Breda. One of the passengers was injured.

The reason was a speeding violation. Police tried to park the car at the side of the road, but the driver fled. The driver drove in the direction of Breda via the A2 and A27. On the way, the motorist committed several traffic violations.

After the crash, the road at junction Galder was closed for half an hour.
