In one of the hottest scenes of Men in Hope, the director Jiří Vejdělek himself was an actor on the set. It was a situation where Kerekes does not have a rubber band to fasten her hair when playing billiards, which prevents her from playing. That’s why she bravely takes off her panties and uses them instead.
In addition to shooting erotic scenes, it was also challenging to work with Bolek Polívka. Vejdělek even coined the term “wearing out Bolka” – the actor did not perform a single scene the same. That’s why the director called off the crew for an hour so that Macháček and Polívka could “get tired”. Fortunately, they were already shooting according to the script.
Macháček, on the other hand, was more careful. He studied each scene in detail, and only when he was able to play it the same way every time did he begin to enrich his character with something.
