Kochi: It is reported that one eye of the wild cat Arikomban, which was moved from Chinnakanal in Idukki to Periyar Tiger Reserve, has lost sight. The forest department informed that the right eye of the elephant is impaired. It is mentioned in the report of Forest Department CCF.

After the elephant was drugged and caught, its health condition was examined in detail by the veterinary department of the forest department. It was during this examination that the vision deficiency became apparent. But the elephant has no other health problems.

A detailed examination of the wounds on the body of thirty-five-year-old Ari Kompan was done and treatment was given. At the time of capture, Arikompan had injuries on his trunk and body. The report of the forest department says that this is a two-day old injury.

It is believed that Arikomban was involved in a conflict with Chakkakomban and the injury that occurred at that time included the trunk. Periyar Tiger Reserve was released with medicine on the wounds. Arikomban is currently found in Mavadi-Mullakodi area.
